For personnel to fulfil a Shotfirers role while undertaking blasting in the Irish quarrying sector, it is necessary for them to demonstrate that they are competent across the range of activities that the role requires. It is mandatory for all Shotfirers using explosives in quarrying applications to have completed the appropriate QSCS registration. Irish Industrial Explosives provides to shot firers in the Republic Of Ireland the opportunity to complete this training and progress to QSCS registration.

As of 1 November 2009, it has been necessary for personnel acting in the role of Explosives Supervisor within the Irish Quarrying Sector to demonstrate that they are competent across the range of activities that the role requires. This can be achieved by either QSCS Registration as an Explosives Supervisor or alternatively, possess a valid MP Awards Explosives Supervisor Card and have completed the field audit. more »

The MP Awards Explosives Supervisor course is of particular interest to personnel requiring knowledge of blasting and explosives supervision but who do not intend to gain hands on experience in explosives supervision for subsequent QSCS or CSCS Registration. more »

For personnel to become, or continue to be Shotfirers or Explosives Supervisors while undertaking blasting in the civil engineering sector, it will be necessary for them to demonstrate that they are competent across the range of activities that the roles require. It shall become mandatory for all Shotfirers and Explosives Supervisors using explosives in civil engineering applications to have completed the appropriate CSCS registration. Irish Industrial Explosives is now offering existing and new shot firers and explosive supervisors in the Republic Of Ireland the opportunity to complete this training and complete the appropriate CSCS registration. more »
